WHAT IS HIFU?
Unlike other lasers or radio frequency treatments that have its limitations, the facelift & skin tightening hifu (high intensity focused ultrasound) laser is a non-invasive treatment that is designed to specifically target not just skin deep to produce collagen but also tightens the muscle layer that is usually addressed with cosmetic facelift surgery. The hifu laser helps to correct the problem of sagging, loose skin to achieve youthful, tighter and healthier looking skin with minimum discomfort.
WHO IS IT FOR?
This treatment uses a gentle yet powerful high intensity focused ultrasound (hifu) technology to treat aging and sagging skin without causing irritation or damage to the skin’s surface. The hifu energy is deposited deep beneath the skin’s surface to stimulate collagen production. As a result, the skin will begin to lift and tone over time. It is recommended for those who seek a non-invasive treatment technology to shape and possibly achieve the desired face shape.
BENEFITS
Facelift & skin tightening hifu utilises the Korean second generation hifu system to provide a more precise and accurate delivery of ultrasound energy that tightens and rejuvenates the skin. It is also a cost effective option for those who want firmer, refreshed and younger looking skin but are not ready to go under the knife. The treatment takes less than an hour with minimal or no downtime.
PROCEDURE
Upon consultation and a thorough skin evaluation with our doctor, a personalised course of treatment will be designed for optimal results based on your skin condition. The procedure is well tolerated as a topical numbing cream (anaesthetic) will be applied prior to treatment for 30 minutes. This minimises any discomfort and makes the treatment a comfortable one.
EXPECTED RESULTS
Results differ from patient to patient. Some patients may see immediate results while others may experience the lifting and toning effect gradually over a period of 2 to 3 months when collagen renewal takes place. As the collagen-building process continues, further improvements can be seen up to 6 months following a procedure. Results usually last up to a year. Future touch-up treatments can help keep pace with the skin’s aging process. Most patients typically need one treatment; however, some may benefit from more than one treatment (depending on the skin laxity and your body’s biological response to the ultrasound and collagen-building process).
AFTER TREATMENT
The healing process varies from patient to patient. There may be minor irritation and redness, which typically lasts from 0 to 3 days. Most patients return to work the next day as you can resume to apply make-up. You are encouraged to avoid direct exposure to sunlight thereafter, and wear sunscreen of at least 30 SPF when going outdoors.
